Job Title: Armed Security Guard
Location: Cemetery in Santa Ana, CA
Reports To: Security Supervisor + Administrative Captain
Schedule: Saturday + Sunday, 11:30 - 17:30 + Opportunity for On-Call Shift & Overtime
Pay range: $20-22 an hour
Position Summary: We are seeking a vigilant and professional Armed Security Guard to ensure the safety and security of our client's cemetery grounds. The ideal candidate will be responsible for protecting property, assets, staff, and visitors. This role requires a strong sense of duty, attention to detail, and the ability to respond swiftly to any security incidents.
Key Responsibilities: - Patrol and Monitor: Conduct regular foot patrols and vehicle patrols of the cemetery grounds, including mausoleums, burial sites, and other facilities to deter potential threats and ensure the safety of the property.
- Incident Response: Respond promptly to security incidents, alarms, or disturbances. Investigate and report suspicious activities, potential threats, or safety hazards.
- Emergency Management: Assist in emergency situations, including medical emergencies, natural disasters, or security breaches. Provide first aid or CPR if necessary.
- Surveillance: Monitor surveillance equipment to detect and prevent vandalism, theft, or other criminal activities. Record and report any unusual occurrences.
- Customer Service: Provide assistance and information to visitors, ensuring a respectful and compassionate environment, especially during funeral services.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed logs and reports of daily activities, incidents, and any security breaches. Prepare reports for management and law enforcement as required.
- Weapon Handling: Carry and maintain a firearm in accordance with local laws and company policies. Ensure the weapon is used only in appropriate and legally justified situations.
- Collaboration: Work closely with local law enforcement and emergency responders as needed. Coordinate with cemetery staff to address any security concerns.
Qualifications: - Valid security guard license and firearms permit required.
- Non-lethal certs (Baton, OC, or Taser)
- Strong knowledge of security protocols and emergency procedures.
- Excellent observational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic first aid and CPR certification preferred.
Physical Requirements: - Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
- Capable of working in various weather conditions.
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds.
Compensation: - Weekly pay every Wednesday.
