Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Cafe Manager to join our team! As the Cafe Manager, you will be responsible for the restaurant’s operational performance and financial well-being. You will hire, train, and lead staff, ensuring they reflect the restaurant’s high standards. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with experience managing a successful cafe or fast-casual establishment. 

Farley’s East, established in 2009 in the Uptown neighborhood of Oakland, has a rare management position open. We are looking for a passionate, caring Cafe Manager to lead its FOH team! Farley’s is a family-run business and we’ve grown with the neighborhood and our loyal customers over the years to keep serving the highest quality food and coffee we can. With a strong team in place, we are looking for a full time manager to oversee the cafe and its bustling operations.

We’re looking for a Manager with preferably both food and coffee experience that wants to continue growing their skills and lead a team. You must be able to balance uncompromising quality with genuine customer interaction and oversee a busy cafe (with plenty of help and support from your team of course!). An ideal candidate would love coffee and the cafe environment and desire to build a deep connection with the community we serve.

The Cafe Manager reports to the General Manager and directly oversees the Farley’s East FOH team.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

Develop short and long-term goals for the restaurant

Hire, train, and manage employees and conduct periodic performance reviews

Lead team in providing exceptional customer service

Create and maintain a food and beverage budget

Adhere to all health and safety rules and regulations

Provide sales and productivity reports to upper management

Develop and coordinate marketing efforts and community events

Qualifications: 

Previous restaurant management experience
Familiarity with restaurant management software and POS software
Ability to remain calm and thrive under pressure
Excellent management and leadership skills
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
2 years of management experience
