Seeking a creative, organized, and community-minded Event Planner & Volunteer Coordinator to support the planning and coordination of events, programs, and volunteer activities within our congregation and broader community. This part-time position is essential in strengthening multi-generational engagement, fostering fellowship, and ensuring the smooth implementation of meaningful community events.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities of Event Planner

· Plan, organize, and assist in the execution of a variety of events, including religious celebrations, community outreach programs, fundraisers, and special gatherings.

· Coordinate event logistics including scheduling, space setup, catering equipment, and communications.

· Assist in developing and managing event budgets, timeliness, and post-event evaluations.

Volunteer Coordination

· Recruit, train, and schedule to support volunteers to assist in programs, events, and community service initiatives.

· Create and maintain an up-to-date volunteer database that can be used for a variety of activities.

· Foster a welcoming and supportive environment for volunteers, recognizing their value and showing appreciation for their time and contributions.

Communications & Outreach

· Collaborate with staff and/or committees to promote events through newsletters, bulletins, social media, and community networks.

· Serve as the point of contact for event-related and volunteer questions.

· Build positive relationships with staff, congregants, and community partners.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

· Proven experience in event planning, volunteer coordination, or related field (Experience in a faith-based or nonprofit setting preferred).

· Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

· Microsoft Office, Canva, and basic experience in website updates.

· A heart for service and commitment to the mission and values of the organization.

· Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Compensation & Schedule

· Part- time position; schedule to be determined (approximate 23-27 hours per week).

· Annual salary: approximately $35,000 depending on experience.

· Reports to: Executive Director.
