Overview Flight Attendant (German Speakers Only) – United Airlines. Join to apply for this role. United has a large and expanding network with extensive training provided. Training includes 6.5 weeks in Houston, TX, after which you become a full-time United employee. Responsibilities Provide safety and service standards in line with United’s policies. Engage with customers positively, resolve issues with empathy and professionalism, and represent United with pride. Operate in a 24/7 global network, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours. Stand and move around aircraft, assist with safe boarding and deplaning, and handle tasks such as serving food/beverages (including alcohol) professionally. Maintain professional appearance and comply with uniform, grooming, and safety guidelines. Utilize electronic devices as required for tasks and communications. Qualifications 21 years of age or older at time of application. High school graduate or GED; 2+ years of college preferred. At least one year of customer service experience in a service-oriented environment. Clear, concise communication in English; fluency in German required (read/write/speak). Ability to hear and respond to high-stress situations; strong interpersonal skills. Professional appearance and willingness to follow uniform guidelines; tattoos and jewelry guidelines apply. Ability to read and operate electronic devices; valid passport with travel eligibility. Legally authorized to work in the United States; flexible schedule for 24/7 operation. Onboarding And Training Training includes evacuation drills, pre-employment DOT drug screen, background checks, fingerprinting, and medical/vision tests. DOT/FAA pre-employment and random drug screens; safety-sensitive role (no recreational marijuana). Background checks to meet travel requirements; some regions have additional travel restrictions (e.g., Canada). Passing vision and hearing requirements as per FAA and United standards. During training, a stipend of $140/week and accommodations are provided; upon successful training, a $1,000 bonus is awarded. Compensation and Benefits Starting hourly pay: $28.88/hour; top of base scale up to $67.11/hour; seniority-based increases; additional compensation for language skills, lead positions, and international trips.
