Job Summary

We are seeking a Music Director to join our team! As the Musical Director, you will be selecting musicals, holding auditions for students, and assigning roles to those best suited to them. You will also schedule and supervise all rehearsals within the confines of school hours, maintain all musical equipment, and attend staff meetings as needed. The ideal candidate will have experience working with and teaching students, excellent leadership skills, and a knack for developing young talent. MUST BE APD CERTIFIED. Responsibilities 

• Choose activities, lessons, and musical performances based on the skillset and available students
• Hold auditions for each activity or musical, and assign parts as necessary
• Schedule and supervise rehearsals within the appropriate school hours
• Properly assess the skills of each student under your care, and work with each student to develop their individual skills
• Stay up to date with trends in both teaching and the music industry
• Attend staff meetings, as needed
• Create budgets for productions, and work within budgetary limitations
• Maintain all musical equipment, as necessary

Qualifications

• Previous experience teaching music preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent leadership and time management skills
• The ability to make decisions under pressure
