Nuvance Health is seeking a full time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for our Employee Health Services Department at Norwalk Hospital in Norwalk, Connecticut. Employee Health/Occ Health spans all 7 hospitals. We service 16,000 employees and have contracts with multiple companies and school in for Occupational Health. It is a collegial environment with a dedicated team who puts the care of our most valuable asset, i.e. our employees first.

 
Job Responsibilities:
Provides medical care in an occupational health setting including acute care, follow-up care and medical surveillance examinations for employees in the Norwalk Hospital area:
  • Assesses and treats injuries & illnesses
  • Handles injury case management including development of plans to return employees to the workplace
  • Conducts post offer physical examinations.
  • Conducts periodic and medical surveillance examinations.
  • Orders and interprets diagnostic tests.
  • Communicates with employers regarding work status and suitability for employment.
  • Performs periodic case review to monitor quality of care.
  • Works closely with department manager and Medical Director to determine physician assistants' work schedules, patient flow patterns & other general duties.
  • Conducts ergonomic and safety work site evaluations.
  • Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position

 
Job Requirements: 
· This position requires a minimum formal education and graduate of an approved PA Program or Master Degree, FNP, CT State NP/PA license, Federal DEA Registration and Current Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) or Board Certified Nurse Practitioner.
·Prior experience in Occupational Medicine, Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care 
·ATLS, ACLS & BLS certification are required. ATLS training will be scheduled as necessary. 
·Hours are 8:00 am – 5 pm Monday – Friday. No nights, weekends or call.
