Job Title: Piping Designer

Position Overview

My client is seeking a Piping Designer to join their team in Indianapolis, IN, where you'll play a key role in delivering high-impact industrial and pharmaceutical facility projects. In this position, you will contribute to the technical execution and schedule management of piping design tasks, working across disciplines and supporting multi-office project coordination. As a critical team member, you'll collaborate on design reviews, vendor drawings, and estimate development, while ensuring design quality and alignment with client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute and oversee routine piping design tasks, ensuring technical quality and adherence to project timelines and budgets.
• Participate in and lead efforts involving multi-discipline design coordination, vendor drawing reviews, and 2D/3D model development.
• Understand and manage project scope, budget, and earned value (progress tracking), while proactively identifying and communicating scope or design changes.
• Collaborate closely with engineering and design teams across multiple office locations.
• Support the development of design estimates and project schedules.
• Provide mentorship to junior designers, fostering team growth and technical development.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree (AA) in Computer Aided Drafting and Design or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience in lieu of degree.
• Minimum 3 years of piping design experience in industrial or pharmaceutical environments.
• Proficiency in 2D/3D design software, including tools such as Revit and Autodesk Plant 3D.
• Ability to work onsite in Indianapolis, IN.
