Key Responsibilities:

  • Submit insurance prior authorization requests for home health services in compliance with payer requirements.
  • Work closely with physicians, medical staff, and insurance companies to secure approval for patient care services.
  • Review patient charts and clinical documentation to ensure accurate and thorough prior authorization requests.
  • Communicate effectively with insurance providers and resolve any issues or delays in the approval process.
  • Maintain accurate records of all prior authorization activities and document communications.
  • Stay updated on insurance policies and regulations, ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines.
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure a smooth and timely authorization process.
Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in insurance prior authorization, preferably in home health or a healthcare setting.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance payer systems, processes, and requirements.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with home health documentation and medical terminology.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Experience with prior authorization software is a plus.
