Security Officer

Responsible for the safety and security of the company assets, guests, and team members while maintaining guest satisfaction and supporting the business' core values.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

1. Ensures the smooth operation of the department by following prescribed policies and procedures, and by adhering to and enforcing the responsible gaming plan and internal control policies and procedures.
2. Attends daily briefings and meetings; is on time and participates in a positive manner.
3. Writes reports in a clear and concise manner noting only information based on facts, without interjection of one's opinion.
4. Responds to all non-routine incidents taking appropriate actions and making the proper notifications.
5. Performs currency transports in accordance with gaming procedures.
6. Communicates with other security personnel via two-way radios, using established "10-codes".
7. Responds to all guest incidents.
8. Ensures quick, fair and consistent results to guests complaints.
9. Safeguards property assets.
10. Responds and reacts to First Aid situations and administering CPR.
11. Ensures the integrity of gaming, banking, count room and cash handling procedures.
12. Responsible for proper handling of confidential information, reports, incidents, and materials.
13. Responsible for communication within the department, ensuring that information is shared with team members.
14. Informs management team of information necessary to the efficient operation of the business.
15. Maintains knowledge of gaming laws/racing regulations, and company policies to ensure adherence to all safety protocols and procedures.
16. Resolves problems that are within the position's scope of authority and recommends courses of action to resolve problems that are beyond the scope of authority to the position's supervisor.
17. Keeps position supervisor informed of relevant activities.
18. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education And Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six (6) months to one (1) year experience in security or law enforcement training, schooling, or certification is preferred.
• Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
• Must obtain and maintain a valid racing license.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

• The team member will be required to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• While performing the duties of this job, the team member is frequently required to sit or stand; walk; use hands to finger reach, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
• The team member may be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
• The team member may be required to work long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
• The work environment may vary in levels of crowds, noise and flashing lights depending on the assigned station and guest volume.
