Software Engineer for a leading HedgeFund (Data Group) Join to apply for the Software Engineer for a leading HedgeFund (Data Group) role at Quanta Search . The Data Group is part of the larger Core Development team at our Client's Trading Business and is responsible for curating a centralized source of research and reference data for the firm to utilize. The Data Group operates in a dynamic environment utilizing a sophisticated technology stack. The team interfaces with all aspects of the firm, including Trading, Research, Technology, Risk, Middle Office, and Accounting, providing a comprehensive view of the firm. The role offers opportunities to develop both business and technical expertise while contributing significantly to the code base. The ideal candidate will be able to analyze technical details, work with end-users to understand their needs, and implement streamlined solutions. We seek self-starters who are curious and capable of independently driving tasks and projects to completion. What You'll Do Work with various datasets to provide a scalable, centralized, validated representation of reference data, including Security Master, Corporate Actions, Pricing, and Entity Master data. Review and understand datasets using vendor documentation and liaising with external vendors as needed. Anticipate data behavior based on analysis and market conventions, implementing solutions and controls to identify and resolve issues during daily processing. Skills You'll Need At least 2+ years of strong development experience in Python. Experience or exposure to data analytics tools such as Pandas is a bonus. Strong unit-testing and test-driven development skills. Willingness to diversify and master other technical skills. Experience working with relational databases. Hands-on experience in a Linux environment. Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
