Ben's Structural Fabricating is looking for an aspiring and detailed individual to join our Miscellaneous Metals team working on a variety of tasks related to welding and fabricating, specifically for railings, handrails, stairs, and other non-structural building components.

This is an artful and critical role in our fabrication process here at Ben's, we take pride in all our steel fabrication projects, our top-of-the-line automation, our quality assurance, and our commitment to safety and most importantly, our people. We're more than a team, we're a family.

Daily Responsibilities:

• Use of Dragon automated pipe bending machine
• Use of fully automated layout table, tacking pieces together while spending a large amount of time kneeling on top of the 10+ feet long table
• Review blueprints to accurately determine weld requirements and fabricate weldment
• Surface preparation prior to and after welding; sand, grind, wire brush, degrease, etc (Roughly 50% of position)
• Conduct GMAW-pulse (MIG) welding in the flat and horizontal positions, on multiple types of surfaces including mild steel and stainless-steel components
• Frequent lifting of 50-100 lbs

Work Life Balance

• Monday-Thursday, 6:00am to 4:15pm
• No weekends!
• Possible overtime on Fridays, 6:00am-3:00pm

• Proven welding skills - Preferred 1-2 years or more of current MIG experience on multiple types of surfaces (mild steel, stainless steel, etc.)
• Must be Able to pass a Horizontal (2G) weld qualification test upon hire
• Ability to read blueprints containing dimensions, common weld symbols, and weld specifications
• A passion for and commitment to production welding
• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
