For the 2025-2026 School Year

TITLE: Substitute Cook/Cashier

APPROX. HOURS: 7:00 AM - 1:30 PM

JOB SUMMARY: To prepare and serve nutritious meals to students. The employee will frequently work in different areas of the kitchen and cafeteria performing their duties.

QUALIFICATIONS :

• Strong customer service orientation.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to fifty pounds.
• Required to frequently stand for prolonged periods, walk, use hands and fingers to handle and/or feel objects, tools or controls.
• Ability to work under pressure with frequent interruptions.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and work independently.
• Knowledge of cooking procedures, and equipment helpful.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

1. Performs tasks assigned by the lead cook and food service director.
2. Prepares food according to recipe using proper procedures.
3. Operates equipment and performs work tasks in a safe and sanitary manner.
4. Cleans and maintains school food service equipment and facilities.
5. Serves food using proper sanitation.
6. Maintains positive relations with students and staff in the serving line.
7. Assists lead cook with record keeping and inventory.
8. Makes suggestions for improving food quality or general operations of the school food service operation.
9. Regular attendance
10. Other duties as assigned.
