\nRN - Med Surg
\n\nJob Details:
\n• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
\n• First week will include day shift hours from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM for orientation
\n• Position located on unit 6900 GI/GU specializing in gastrointestinal and genitourinary patients
\n• Patient ratios of 1:4-6
\n• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
\n• Every other weekend required
\n• Must float within service line to meet facility needs
\n• 2 years of medical surgical experience required
\n• Travel experience required
\n• Must pass Relias EKG exam with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
\n• Required certifications: BLS
\n• BSN preferred
\n• Epic charting system experience required
\n• Navy scrubs required
\n• Skills required: Med/Surg, Telemetry remote monitoring, Colostomy care, Feeding tube care and management, Blood Product Administration, Central line blood draw, Peripheral Line Care/Management, Phlebotomy, PICC line management, Starting IVs, Heparin, Insulin, PCA
\n• Administer various drips including Heparin, Lidocaine, Bicarb, Bivaldirubin, and Amiodarone
\n• Manage PCAs, Epidurals, and CBIs with different irrigation solutions
\n• Handle special procedures including foleys, continuous bladder irrigation, TURPS, and colorectal patient protocols
\n• Care for patients with ostomy, colon resection, colon cancer, bladder cancer, GU conditions, and medical overflow
\n• Work in high turnover surgery patient unit with 32 daily census and 38 beds
\n• No on-call requirements
\n• Maximum 7 days RTO per 13-week contract
\n• No local candidates within 75-mile radius accepted

\nThis major academic medical center is a Magnet-designated teaching hospital and Level I Trauma Center with 1,266 staffed beds. The facility provides comprehensive short-term acute care services with extensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation services. The organization maintains high standards for patient care and utilizes Epic charting system throughout their network.
