Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg RN with an active IL license, offering 12-hour night shifts and a diverse medical-surgical patient mix.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

• Hospital-based 22-bed medical-surgical unit
• Care for patients post-surgical, Urology, GI, UTI, Sepsis, high fall risk, COPD, and CHF
• Patient ratio is 5:1, with 4:1 for primary nursing
• Shift is 12 hours, nights
• Required to work every other weekend and every other holiday
• No floating or on-call responsibilities
• EPIC charting system is used and experience is required
• Med/Surg RNs must demonstrate adaptability, resilience, and strong teamwork skills
• Navy blue scrubs are required
• COVID-19 vaccination required unless a valid medical or religious exception is provided
• Holiday hours may vary if the unit is closed
• No local candidates accepted within 40 miles of the facility

\n \n Requirements\n

• Active IL state RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from AHA or American Red Cross required
• Minimum of 2 years Med/Surg RN experience required
• Experience with EPIC EMR required
• Proficiency with remote telemetry, chest tubes, NG/PEG tubes, straight cath/Foleys, ostomies, Heparin drips, blood/blood product administration, tracheostomy care, and PCA
• Candidates must reside more than 40 miles from the facility
