Job Description

This position is for a 2nd shift Maintenance Technician, working from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Currently, the team is working 50-55 hours a week, including most Saturdays, with plans to reduce hours once more technicians are hired. This role is akin to a maintenance lead position, requiring higher-level maintenance expertise.

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems on all manufacturing equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance on manufacturing-related equipment.
• Adhere to safety requirements and safely troubleshoot live electrical panels.
• Participate in problem-solving groups and lean manufacturing activities.
• Contribute to the maintenance department’s efforts to achieve key performance measures.
• Continuously learn and support various processes such as thermal forming, adhesive, molding, isocyanate foam, high-pressure water, and assembly processes.
• Operate powered industrial trucks, aerial lifts, and cranes.
• Edit or modify control programs on programmable devices, with training provided if needed.
• At least 5 years of mechanical maintenance experience.
• 3-5 years of hydraulics repair experience.
• 3 years of electrical troubleshooting experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience repairing robotic machines.
• Basic controls experience.

Work Environment

The work environment is a tier 1 manufacturing plant primarily serving GM, Ford, and Chrysler. The well-lit facility runs smoothly and employs a polybond process for product manufacturing. The plant is equipped with edgefold equipment, waterjet cutters, form pouring, robotic spray booths, and more. While the plant can get warm in the summer, it maintains normal conditions for manufacturing. Maintenance work involves exposure to grease, water, hydraulic oil, isocyanates, heat, and fiberglass.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Holland, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.
