ABOUT THE JOB

Appraises real or personal property for tax assessment purposes. This class is distinguished from the lower appraiser classification by the increased independence under which the employee functions, the more difficult nature and type of appraisal assignments and the general complexity of assignments given. May specialize in one specific type of appraisal work. May supervise or train an Appraiser I or Appraiser Trainee.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

APPRAISER I

Must be currently registered by the State of Oregon as a Property Appraiser under ORS 308.010 and have a satisfactory equivalent combination of education, experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge, skills and ability to perform the duties of the position.

APPRAISER II

Must be currently registered by the State of Oregon as a Property Appraiser under ORS 308.010. One year of experience as a property appraiser in a County Assessor's Office; or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Must possess and maintain a valid Oregon driver's license and automobile insurance, and have access to and use of a personal automobile as a condition of employment.
