AWS Commerce Platform enables customers to purchase products and services and provides tools for customers to interactively understand their cloud bills. As the nexus of AWS services and end-customers, we work closely across all AWS teams to ensure that we identify and manage the top compliance risks across Commerce Platform. We identify the top emerging compliance risks, implement controls to mitigate those risks and audit control effectiveness. We are seeking an experienced Cloud Compliance Audit Lead to join our AWS Risk Audit and Compliance team. The ideal candidate will conduct comprehensive audits and develop strategies to identify and mitigate compliance risks across AWS environments. In this position, you must be able to understand technologies used for managing complex business processes and identify the full range of risks related to processes that may include financial, regulatory compliance, operations, and organization policy. You should be comfortable interacting with highly technical software development engineers and business partners. This candidate will specifically partner with management in Security, Legal, Accounting, Sales and Finance to enhance the customer experience for AWS billing. Candidates must possess the ability to understand business requirements and processes to continue to create an accurate and efficient billing platform for both internal and external customers. Ingenuity and the ability to think outside the box will be a must in this highly ambiguous environment. You will work with AWS Billing leaders and senior leadership to quantify the organization's risk posture, emerging compliance risks and monitor the risk environment. You will independently perform and execute integrated audits, utilize analytics to measure success, prepare written findings, and facilitate business responses and follow up on action items. You will manage a risk portfolio that includes compliance and security related risks. You will keep updated on current and future external regulations related to data privacy, financial reporting and technology. Additionally, you will participate in ad hoc assignments on a priority basis as directed by Billing leadership. You must be an excellent writer who can concisely communicate and articulate complex issues in business terms. You must be a strong risk leader, execute audits plans from beginning to end, often executing multiple audits concurrently. Key job responsibilities • Spearhead comprehensive audits of AWS systems, tools, and critical datasets, delivering executive-level audit reports with actionable recommendations for risk mitigation • Strategically develop and execute annual audit roadmaps aligned with AWS Operational Planning • Establish strong partnerships with Internal Audit and SOX teams to implement robust control frameworks and address organizational risks proactively • Orchestrate multi-regional compliance programs, including data retention policies and location-specific regulatory requirements across global AWS operations • Lead complex cross-functional compliance initiatives, coordinating with multiple stakeholders to ensure seamless implementation • Design and maintain comprehensive control documentation systems, implementing automated monitoring solutions to track compliance metrics and risk indicators in real-time About the team Why AWS Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the world’s most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud platform. The base pay for this position ranges from $109,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market.
