Position Overview We are seeking a
Commercial Paint Estimator who is detail-oriented, disciplined, and thrives under deadlines. This role is
focused purely on estimating no sales duties required. You will collaborate with our sales and production teams to prepare
competitive, detailed ,
and accurate bids delivered at speed. Some projects will require you to
sign and uphold Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) due to the sensitive nature of client information.
This position can be performed
remotely or at our offices in
Hiawatha, IA .
Key Responsibilities - Review and interpret architectural blueprints, plans, and specifications.
- Perform precise takeoffs to determine labor, material, and equipment needs.
- Prepare accurate, detailed estimates in Excel and leading bidding software systems.
- Deliver bids quickly without sacrificing accuracy or scope alignment.
- Work closely with sales to clarify client requirements and with production to confirm execution details.
- Track bid outcomes, maintain estimating databases, and adjust strategies as needed.
- Uphold NDAs and confidentiality agreements for sensitive client projects.
Qualifications - Proven experience as a commercial estimator (painting, coatings, or related construction trades preferred).
- Strong blueprint reading and construction document interpretation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with industry estimating/bidding platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver accurate estimates under time-sensitive deadlines.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Must be comfortable signing and upholding NDAs.
- Remote candidates must have reliable internet and a professional home-office setup.
