We are seeking a detail-oriented estimator to join our team. In this role, you will analyze technical specifications, material requirements, and manufacturing tolerances to develop accurate and competitive pricing proposals. The estimator will collaborate closely with engineering, quality control, and sales to ensure quotes are technically sound and aligned with customer expectations.

Location: Albertville, MN

Wage: $29 – $41/hr.

Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday – Friday

Duties of the estimator:

• Exercise discretion and independent judgment in pricing decisions
• Prepare accurate manufacturing estimates and job routings for tube products
• Request quotes from partners for materials, components, and outside services
• Analyze customer information to determine cost drivers and provide formal quotes
• Serve as a technical liaison with engineering and quality control to ensure proper costing, manufacturability, and tolerances
• Enter pricing information on customer portals, communicate professionally with customers, plan projects, maintain records in CRM/Salesforce, and build strong customer relationships
• Initiate quality planning “Q-plans” for New Production Introduction

Requirements of the estimator:

• Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities
• Ability to read engineered drawings, bills of material, and interpret CAD models
• Knowledge of steel and tube fabrication, basic understanding of outsource operations such as stamping, plating, and painting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic math/geometry skills
• Strong written communication

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with SolidWorks or other 3D modeling programs
• Manufacturing background
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical major
• Epicor/Kinetic and Salesforce experience
• 3+ years in a contract manufacturing environment

Physical demands and work environment:

• Work is performed in a warehouse/manufacturing environment with regular exposure to loud noise
• Employees must walk, talk, hear, stand, sit, use hands, handle tools, and occasionally reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception
