Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Lab Assistant / Accessioner to support our busy laboratory. This is an entry-level role , and no previous laboratory experience is required. Candidates must be comfortable with computers, data entry, and working in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Accession incoming specimens and route them to the appropriate laboratory or designated satellite facility.
• Prepare specimens prior to processing/testing, including sorting, labeling, and organizing required paperwork.
• Enter specimen, patient, and client information from requisitions into the laboratory database with accuracy.
• Identify and place on hold any specimens with incomplete or missing information until resolved.
• Verify all requisitions are entered correctly into the system.
• Scan, copy, and file specimen documentation as needed.
• Assist in preparing labels and forms used in the accessioning process.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the manager or supervisor.
Requirements
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Basic computer skills and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to follow instructions and maintain accuracy in fast-paced work settings.
• No vaccination requirements.
