Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry night position requiring telemetry competency and a Massachusetts RN license.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

• Position is on a 32-bed Orthopedic/Neuro Med/Surg telemetry unit with medical overflow
• Night shift from 19:00-07:30 with every other weekend required
• Patient population includes elective orthopedic and neuro/surgical cases, fractures, neuro patients, and general medical overflow
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5 or 1:6 during night shifts
• Travelers may be required to float to similar Med/Surg units as needed
• Epic EMR is used and experience is required
• Must be able to read and interpret tele strips independently
• Required to follow holiday coverage as needed
• Local candidates must reside at least 60 miles from Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston to receive the standard rate
• Flu and COVID-19 vaccines are mandatory with no religious or medical exemptions allowed
• Parking is not validated and may incur a daily cost
• Personal protective equipment and fit-testing may be required
• Timekeeping is managed via UKG/Kronos system
• RTO must be documented at the time of consideration

\n \n Requirements\n

• Active Massachusetts RN license in hand (no pending or conditional licenses accepted)
• Minimum of 2 years Med/Surg RN experience with neuro assessment and telemetry skills
• Ability to interpret telemetry strips is required
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required
• ACLS certification from the American Heart Association is preferred
• Proof of COVID-19 and Flu vaccination are required with no exemptions permitted
